Here's a soiree of random data from my head dacha
I'm coming back to van. End of june. Family reunion, my mom, a wedding, dear friends, some work stuff, a girl. I'm there till early July.
Right now, i'm tuning shaders and cameras at work. What's a shader? A shader is some graphics math which tries to make surfaces appear photo real (or not, if that's what you want). See those pixar movies? how the concrete and leaves on plants really look like concrete or a leaf of a plant? That's the shader. There's other stuff too, textures and lighting, it's pretty complicated, but the shader is a major component of things looking like whatever you want them to. I'm tuning over 700 of them. It's a long haul.
The weather here is getting cooler. This is 'winter' which means the dry season, which means that every day is sunny and cool/warm during the day and nice cool at night. It's about perfect. We've had weeks of sunshine
every day. Only today was cloudy, and it felt a bit bizzare. For brief little moments here and there, it would feel like Vancouver - for like a second - until you stumbled into a palm tree, or a jade plant, or a jasmine tree, or a parrot.
I've taken to swimming most mornings before work. It's amazing how great that feels.
Usually, i try to end my blogs with some kind of thought provoking notion which ties the whole thing together. This won't happen here, this time. I'm running on 3 hours sleep.
